Mandeville Louisiana Wedding | Whitni + Nic

Whitni and Nic are such joyful people, at least when they’re together (I haven’t spent time with them individually though :)), but I found both at their engagement session and at their wedding, that they laugh so much when they’re together, it’s something so beautiful that makes their photos so much fun.

They booked me for their wedding pre-covid and the plan was for their wedding to be in Boise. Of course with all of the fun that Covid has brought this last year, their plans changed, and they decided to have their wedding in Mandeville, Louisiana. The reason for this is because that’s where Nic’s family lives, and some very important family members wouldn’t be able to make it to their wedding if they had held it as planned in Boise. I thought this was such a beautiful reason for the change, to me weddings are about having everyone you love in one place, and them making this choice reflected their priority on family and relationships.

This meant that I got to travel to Louisiana, which was my third trip to the south and was so much fun. I had an amazing dinner in New Orleans with my brother in law who lives in Mississippi, I hadn’t seen him for six years and it was so special to be with him. I drove my rental car across the longest bridge in the world and watched the gulls hovering and diving, and I enjoyed the lush greenery of the south, very different than the brown of Boise in the high desert.

Whitni and Nic’s wedding day was beautiful, there’s some photos you’ll see in the post that I think will mean a lot to the two of them, with Nic’s grandparents in them. I loved watching Whitni and Nic interacting with and loving on their community and getting a little piece of Nic’s family life in Louisiana. I loved the big gorgeous church, the waterfront in Mandeville and the old mossy oak trees. It meant a lot to me that Whitni and Nic were willing to fly me down there and trust me to document their day. I’ll let the photos do the rest of the storytelling, but thanks so much for having me be a part of your day Whitni and Nic.
