The Espana Family

Heather and Mike are awesome, and we're so grateful to be friends with them. We were neighbors with them when we lived in our teeny tiny apartment and since Heather is a photographer, we have lots in common. Between that and Heather and Mike being utterly hilarious, they make for wonderful friends. This fall I got to do a session with Heather's family, and it was so much fun. I see why Heather is such a fun, hilarious person, because her entire family, including her grandparents are all people who love to laugh and make others laugh. Whenever I'm around older people that are really lighthearted and fun, I'm inspired as to what I'm going to be as a grandparent, I hope I'm like Heather's grandparents.

Espana's thank you so much for having me do this session! I had such a great time hanging out with you guys! Happy Monday!

Michelle & Eric | Expecting (Very soon!)

Michelle and Eric will agree that getting these maternity photos taken was definitely an adventure! From the minute we started talking to them in the parking lot, we started laughing and I don't think we stopped the whole time. They are just one of those couples that you want to beg to be your friends in real life. So M & E, this is me shamelessly begging on the internet.Anyway, this session actually took place in two parts, so enjoy!

Part I: We went to Powell Butte and on our way up the hill we were warned by a storybook-like-captain-man about the "squall" that was coming up over the ridge. Apparently the captain knew something about weather because we ended up caught in a serious downpour involving lots of water and hail. However, we got some great shots in the fifteen minutes or so before the rain, and it was worth it all for these priceless ones of M & E dancing in the rain. They were such great sports!

Part II: By this time, Michelle was getting very close to labor, so we opted for the easier terrain at Cooper Mtn. Nature Reserve. We got some absolutely gorgeous sunshine, which is apparently rare these days. We love the way these two care for each other. They are so connected and playful. Can't wait to meet their darling baby girl when she gets here (if she hasn't already).

Michelle and Eric, thanks for an awesome time!

Rachael and Thomas | Mississippi Wedding

The easiest question we've had to answer: would you like to fly to Mississippi and shoot our wedding at a pre Civil War era Mansion? Ummmm, yes please!!! It's only fitting that Rachael and Thomas would have their wedding at a place with so much history. The two of them are digging their roots deep and building something really special together. From our first email correspondence with Rachael, we knew that we had run across an awesome couple. We have never met two more genuine and generous people. They don't take themselves or others too seriously, and spent most of their time making sure everybody was comfortable and having a good time. Thanks Rachael and Thomas for trusting us enough to fly us all the way from our rainy corner of the world. We were honored. And thanks to all the family and friends who made us feel so welcome. We learned that Southern hospitality is real and we would travel that distance any day for such wonderful folks! Make sure to give us a call if you ever make it to Oregon. Now it's time for all you Oregonians to show Rachael and Thomas some Northwest love in the blog comments.

Leah

Special thanks to Brooke with the lovely blonde locks for "introducing" us to Rachael and making the whole thing possible.

Rachael, you are gorgeous!

Rachael's dad had one simple request, he asked that we not shoot the picture of him walking his daughter down the aisle straight from the balcony, getting only the top of his head. So Mr. Walker, this ones for you!

Thomas and Rachael's friend sort of cut in on the cake feeding process. Hilarious!
