Columbia Gorge Engagement Photographs | Heather + Will

I had a wonderful afternoon with Heather and Will. Being November I was prepared to be rained on and shooting with my camera in it's full rain gear, but instead we got a delightfully sunny day. I was basically stoked out of my mind about the light, so Heather and Will had no shortage of listening to me talk about it. We headed up to the Cape Horn Lookout in Washington. I hadn't ever been on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge, but it is so beautiful there. I'm inspired to take Leah and Wellington there soon. After a few shots at the Lookout we headed further up the road to the Cape Horn Trail and hiked a little ways into the woods, enjoying beautiful lookouts over the Gorge along the way.

Heather and will are super fun and I'm so excited to be shooting their wedding at The Resort at the Mountain this next Summer.

Heather and Will, thanks so much for spending the afternoon with me. So great hanging out with you both and I can't wait to shoot your wedding.

Best of 2011| A year, a good one.

2011 was successful. Not because of anything I did, but just simply because I became a more free person. I tamed the voices of criticism and skepticism (often my own voice) and followed my vision, I had more fun behind the camera than ever before and produced work that I'm proud of. I still have so far to go in becoming free, it's a daily process and a never ending journey, but it's one that I'm thankful to be on. Choosing these photos was overwhelming. I went through every wedding and engagement session I did in 2011 and I choose images that were in some way unique and made me feel something. After my first pass through I had over 350 photos. After several rounds of narrowing down (and still have WAY too many for a blog post), but these were my final picks.

To all of my 2011 clients, thank you for an amazing year. I'm so grateful for each and every one of you and really do believe (and constantly tell people!) that I have the best clients in the world. You all have made me love my job even more.

I'm so excited for 2012. I'm heading into the new year determined to be more present than ever in every moment in my life and to push the limits artistically in every way I can.

Ann & Tristan | Newberg Engagement Photographs

The awesome thing about Ann and Tristan is that after I had already booked their session, I realized that I knew Tristan as well as Ann's brother. I knew the session would be fun. We ran from rain, we hid out in the The Newberg Music Center and they graciously let us take photos inside their store (which was perfect because Tristan is a musician), we also hid out in the sketchiest laundromat I've ever been in (mostly sketchy because there were people sleeping in it that kept intensely saying things like "why would you take photos in front of a dryer, why don't you have them come sit on my lap if you want an ugly background?" Whoa?! Thankfully, Ann and Tristan were great sports and they did a beautiful job interacting and having fun together. Courtney Rogers did a beautiful job on Ann's makeup and joined us for the shoot.

Tristan, so great seeing you again and Ann so great meeting you! Thanks for having me take your engagement photos and congratulations on being engaged!
